Wyoming, Nebraska
We went from Utah into Wyoming and then Nebraska with a little bit of Colorado. We visited only the Souther parts
and were surprised to see such barren country. It was beautiful, but barren except for the mountain areas where
the trees were very thick with 6 foot snow drifts. We stayed at Raulings WY, and the temperature got down to 14
degrees that night. Our reverse cycle heat pump wouldn't work so I had to shift over to propane. Reverse cycle
only works down to about 35 degrees or so. Where is AlGore when you need him. We enjoyed the sights very
much. We saw at least 6 dead deer along the road and a lady we talked to said that they had lost  a lot of elk due
to the heavy snow fall this year and the elk were eating along the train tracks that had uncovered snow and many
had been hit by the trains. We also saw a few coyotes and jackrabbits. We were able to photo one Jackalope, but
the several we saw on the side of the road had their antlers broken up so we didn't save any. Colorado was also
farm country not the ski slopes one would have expected. We'll see them next trip. We also saw numerous oil wells
being drilled as the price has gone up. Many refineries in the Northwest also. Halliburton had a huge operation too.
We also saw 3 prong horned antelope.
Nancy loved these rocks.
Display of our outside temp about 11 AM in mountains. Brrrrr
We saw hundred of wind mills. We saw one being transported on a
truck and the blade was about 65 feet long.. Sound better than it is as
they have a 20 year payback.
Saw miles and miles of snow fences. I guess they are to keep the snow in.
