We had a debate how to get South from Sault St . Marie. We could go across the bottom of Lake Superior or across
the top of Lake Michigan. We chose the latter and it turned out to be a great choice. Michigan is a very rural state
once you get out of the Southern parts. It reminded me of driving along the California coastline except not quite as
pretty.
