Traverse City, MI
We stayed here overnight. It was a very neat town and much bigger than had remembered. It looked very
prosperous which so much different than most of MI that is suffering from the highest unemployment in the US.
The governor decided that higher taxes and business fees would solve their budget deficits, but it caused many
businesses to close and move away. Statewide unemployment is at 14% the highest in the nation. Hope and
Change isn't working out too well here.
They had several very nice marina's with some beautiful boats.
It was about 57 F, raining and very raw,but there were many boats out
in the water. The season is usually over on Labor day which is about a
week off.
This hotel is very famous in the area and looked to be very nice.
This dome was a meeting room and conference center for the hotel.
We had a very tasty and inexpensive breakfast here.
The sea gulls were at least 50% bigger
than the sea gulls we have in Florida.
