I got the doors built and installed today. They fit real well. I still have to install a smooth headed bolt on each end of each hinge so a thief can not just
remove the screws and open the door to get at my wonderful tools. I have to put up a hasp and finish the trim above and below the doors, but that is
just a few minutes. Soon it will be ready to button up and go on our RV trip of a lifetime version 2010. Nancy gives it some scale. She sure is cute.
I put i" by 4" s to keep the doors from warping.
Today I put the trim pieces above and below the doors. Lots of cutting and fitting, but they look good. I added the hasp also. On each hinge and
on both pieces of the hasp, I added a bolt that can only be loosened from the inside to keep a thief from just unscrewing the hinges to get at the
insides. Lots of extra work, but I think it would deter all but the most hardened criminal. I had better not lose the key. The windows will be between
the 2 X 4's on 16" centers so they will be only 14 1/2 inches wide which would keep thieves out.
After doing a lot of cleaning up, I got the shed ready for us to go on our RV trip to Montana and points West and South. We
have to do IA, MN, ND, and SD to complete the lower 48 states. Our daughter and son-in-law have graciously agreed to prime
and paint the shed during our trip as they come up for a weekend to stay on the lake. I will put up the trip, windows, wiring,
insulation, and finishing touches when we return.
We have been delayed in our RV trip, so I stated to add the trip. I ended up doing the trim. It was a lot of cutting and piecing
together. I ended up putting quarter round trim on the trim. I started painting the shed with Kilze as a primer today. We think we
are going to end up painting the shed the same color as the house. (Terra cotta) and doing the trim in black. I will probably put in
some windows and trim them in 1 by 4's painted black and possible some shutters.
The nice black hasp I bought had a little problem. You could open it
even though when was locked. I switched over to a tried and true hasp
and will paint it and the hinges black when we finish.

We have put the primer (Kilze water based) on all of the shed to be painted. Unfortunately even the fuzziest roller we could find
didn't get into the groves of the T111 and we had to do them by hand. Nancy did the lower ones and I did the higher ones. The
compressed photos show some strange vertical lines that are not there on the full size lines where the groves are.
I am painting the exterior of the shed terracotta and the trim black. Terra cotta comes first. Once again I had to paint the groves with a brush as the
fuzziest roller wouldn't get in there. This took about 3 times longer than the roller portion and meant a lot of up and down on the ladder,
The roller work is done, but I am going to have to go back and put on a second coat I believe.
The next project is to paint the trim. I bought 4 windows yesterday. I might get 2 more depending on how
these first ones look. I have those strange vertical lines on the compressed photos.
