I went to South Beach for a swimming meet in the 1960's and it was a haven for old New Yorkers to retire and
live in a tenement for very cheap. Those days are long gone and it s the playground of the rich and famous
now. I have always wanted to eat at Joe's Crab Shack, located at the south end of the Island it has been there
for almost 100 years. It is a very nice restaurant now and very expensive ($89 for lunch which beat our old
record by a mile, but it was well worth it.) Originally and up until bout 10 years ago it had only crab claws and
hash browns. Now it serves a full seafood menu. I had maui maui and Nancy had crab cakes. We both had
seafood chowder. The food was spectacular. We then tooled around South beach. Too cold to go down to
watch the topless swimmers. Oh Well, if you have seen two, you have sen them all.

When I saw the waiters wearing tuxs, I knew it wouldn't be cheap.
