Sault Ste. Marie, MI Locks Tour
Having grown up in Fort Myers, Fl next to the Thomas Edison Estate, I have always studied about Edison. He built this power generation
plant in 1904. It utilized the 21 foot level drop between Lake Superior and Lake Huron. He dug a 3 mile canal around the rapids an rocks
and put up this quarter mile plant with 72 generators making electricity. Amazing. It has been shut down for a number of years, but is still
impressive.
