We drove up to San Antonio from Mission (about 225 miles(. Very windy and blowing us around a lot. We parked
in a Wal-Mart close to the downtown area and sightsee Sunday after noon and ate at the river walk. It started
raining during the night and rained steadily all day unfortunately. No WiFi available. Temps down in the 40's and
we had to double dress. Probably venture out in the rain. We stayed another day at Wal-Mart, our 3rd which we
hate to do, but were rained in. We went to the downtown on Tuesday and had a wonderful time. Did the Alamo,
River Walk, Texas Cultural center, and saw a lot of older homes in the historic district. We bought all day bus
tickers and that helped. Wonderful stay here.
San Antonio
There was an unannounced inspection by the border patrol about 50 miles North of Mission. Nancy thought they remembered her picture taking
and had radioed ahead. He looked at us and asked us where we were from and if we had anybody else inside. We said no (in English) and the
dog Di not hit on us, so we were let go. Profiling at work in the right way.
Nice ranger across from where we stopped to fix lunch.
Another refinery.
Downtown San Antonio is filled with beautiful old buildings.
