We went down to see the beautiful plantations along the River Road. We took the tour of the beautiful Oak
Alley Plantation. It has been used in many films and is now run by a foundation. It is suffering due to the lack
of tourist dollars. Pre hurricane they average about 750 to 1,000 guests a day and now they average about
150 guests per day. They blame this mainly on the media giving the impression that New Orleans and
surrounding areas are still devastated by the hurricanes and don't dare visit. Boy is this ever backwards.
This is the best time to visit.
