Myakka River State Park
Myakka River State Park is located about 9 miles Eat of I-75 and Sarasota. It is a beautiful park and we have wanted to
come here for a while. It fits right in with our plans this winter of taking shorter trips and staying longer. Has something
to do with the economy and the gas prices. Soon, we will be able to get into the Florida state parks for half price. We
took the 7 mile tour. The road was built by the civilian conversation corps back during the depression. There are still 5
palm log cabins made by the corps in use today. The wild life was very interesting. We say 4 groups of deer totally 10
deer and as feral pig sow with 6 shoats The sow was very emaciated. Later we say a boar and he was looking very
good. These feral pigs are enemies of the Florida parks and captured on site. Our son-in-law Darryl has killed quite a
few of them hunting. One pregnant sow can grow into 2,000 pigs in 10 years. I have killed them with a spear while in
the boy scouts.

We saw 10 deer on our exploring through the park our first afternoon. Some shots were taken with zoom and superzoom and also had to be lightened up.

Beautiful country
Sunshine State Parkway Bridge was a little scary as they were advertising high cross winds. Our coach has the aerodynamics of a farm shed, but we
made it OK.
We had lunch at Yoder's in Sarasota which s a fabulous real Amish
restaurant. MMM MMMM Good
