Lake House
We bought our Lake House in Tavares, Florida in 1986. Nancy saw the potential, Lindsy saw the work. It
belonged to a lawyer who had moved into another house and it had been empty for about a year. Kids had
broken into it to party and had spray painted "Class of 85" on the walls. Not a pretty sight. Nancy (who makes
all important decisions) prevailed and we bought the house. We lived only a quarter of a mile away, so it was
easy to work on. We had a contractor add on a 14' by 20' Florida room overlooking the lake. The Florida room
has lots of windows and it is just fabulous looking at the water and seeing all of the wildlife. We moved away
and lived in Fort Pierce for about 4 years and had the house rented. When we moved back into the house for
several years and then started up the Bed and Breakfast. We had to live there so we rented the house again
for 10 years. After selling the Bed and Breakfast, we moved back into the house and started another whole
house renovation project. It has been lots of fun, but lots of work also.
