I have heard about how beautiful this area was all my life and was certainly not disappointed. It is extremely
pretty. We camped right out in the horse country North of town. There must be an amazing amount of money in
these horses as there are millions spent on the appearances of these farms and horses. I know that the
appearances are used to sell the horses, but each of the hundreds of farms just exudes success and attention
to detail. We took the Kentucky Bluegrass driving tour and there was mile after mile of fabulous scenery. The
pictures don't begin to do it justice. We ended up discarding over half of the photos we took, but still ended up
with hard decisions on what to post. We stayed another day to see more and could have stayed another week.
We had a neat meal at a little country cafe in A--thens.
Kentucky Bluegrass Horse Farms
Great 125 year old stone church.
This whole area exudes money. Places like this go one
mile after mile.
We love stone walls. We always take a lot of photos of them and
this area was no exception.
Great shot of two brood mares.
Air conditioned horse barns are shoulder to shoulder.
Brood mares and their foals taken with 16X zoom.
This was one fabulous farm. They at one point had 2 of the 3 living triple crown winners on the farm.
Wonderful grass.
Typical country road.
Foal getting fed breakfast.
This was an exceptionally nice farm.
