Katherine Hanna City Park, Jacksonville, FL
Page 1
Katherine Hanna is a city of Jacksonville, FL park. She left the city a huge chunk of valuable land on a barrier island in
Mayport which is due east of Jacksonville and South of Mayport where a huge Navy aircraft carrier  base is located.
There is also an on demand ferry that takes you across the mouth of the St. John's River for only $3.00 for the 5 minute
trip that saves about a 25 miles go around. This is near the spot the Spanish first landed in Florida in 15??. This park is
fairly inexpensive and has all amenities except WiFi and cable TV. The site are fully wooded and there are 4 1/2 miles of
natural beach mainly deserted. We drove South for about 20 miles and every lot was occupied by a multistory condo
building or a multi million dollar home. This is truly valuable Florida coastal property that can never be duplicated at only
$23 a night, it is a great find and we will be returning a lot. I suspect that this is the favorite park of many off the campers
who stay here.
