We made a quick trip down to Punta Gorda for a few days and then over to Fort Pierce for a few days. We used to live in Fort
Pierce on Hutchinson Island and had not been back in about 14 years. Wow, had things changed. We stayed in a campground in
Port S. Lucie, which was really not much when we were here. Now it is everywhere and franchise row. Fort Pierce still was a little
behind the times and hadn't changed as much. Lots of new condo's on Hutchinson Island; about 1,000 in one development alone.
The real estate bust has hit the area big time. Condos in our old unit (Sea Tern) had sold for as much as $500,000. We should
have kept it. We practically gave it away.

We lived in the Sea Tern Condo's and were right next door to Mangrove Matte's. We ate there as much as 4 or 5 times a week for business
and for pleasure. Our unit was right next to the bar and our portable phone worked there. This was before cell phones. They had a different
dollar night each night and had things like a cup of conch chowder or peel and eat shrimp. Was much easier than  cooking. This area had a
wonder view of the inlet and there was always something going on in it. We were right across from thong beach also.
Second floor window was ours. Great view of the ocean and inlet.
Alway a lot happening in the inlet
Their famous mushroom salad. I think I can duplicate this now at home.

Our pool. We visited some friend who still live there.
Only 7 of the 27 units stayed year around so they cut back all of the
shrubs for the summer as there was not anybody to enjoy them. This
frosted us, but I see they are still doing it 15 years later.
The dock right outside our window.
