Charleston, SC
We have been to Charleston many times in the past, but never by RV. We stayed at the Oaks plantation. About 12
miles South of the town. It was an easy trip in the truck. We bought the walking tour book and gave it a heck of a
try. We did about 2/3rd;s of it before coming to a halt due to the nearly triple digit temperature and high humidity.
We stopped and rested a lot and then learned to get onto the trolley with our $5 all day pass and ride it all the way
around to where we got on and start up again cool and rested. We had dinner at Hyman's Seafood, a very famous
place. We even met one of the owners. We had lunch at the same place we had eaten 20 years ago. Unfortunately
about half way  through the walking tour, our camera battery died. Our pictorial history of Charleston ended, but the
views will be imprinted in our minds forever.
This was as close as we got.
Charleston's famous she crab soup.
The famous confederate submarine that stayed sunken for about 130 years
Haddock
Shrimp and grits again.
The entrance to the open air market.
The open air market used to all look like this, but now only a few and
mainly Chinese goods. We bought a coaster from this lady. She had
been doing this since she learned from her Mother when she was 6
years old. she taught all of her female children and grandchildren how to
do it.
Beautiful iron work all over the city done by slave craftsmen. During the
civil war most of it was melted into cannon balls.
beautiful church spires.
Lots of cemeteries all over town.
One of several rainbow rows in town.
