We went to the Welcome station just over the boarder in Sault St. Marie and found out about a railroad
excursion tour into the deep woods of Canada. The trip was 114 miles each way and went to a very nice park in
a canyon. The woods were extremely deep and isolated. Lots of waterways and lakes. There were some cabins
and signs of human presence in the beginning. In the Soo, there is a huge paper mill that utilizes wood from this
area. I can tell you that they haven't made a dent in the supply of lumber though. We had breakfast and a box
lunch once we got there. It was an mazing trip
