This is undoubtably some of the prettiest country we have ever seen. The Amish have done so much with this country. The average
farm is about 65 to 80 acres and supports a large family, an average of 50 dairy cows (milk usually sold to Hershery). They can get
more out of an acre of land than any other farmer and use only old fashioned equipment. I wish my grandfather and Nancy's Dad could
have seen this. I have always admired the Amish from the little pockets of them I have seen before, but my admiration has certainly
multiplied. We stayed in Intercourse. PA at a great little campground surrounded by the Amish. We had some great Amish food and
went to a party of innkeepers I had met on the internet ad know for 10 years without ever seeing them. They kidded me about being in
Intercourse for 3 days straight.
PA Dutch Country
Intercourse was the name of the Amish
town we stayed in.
