The Mount Dora Boat Show after being held in Mount Dora for over 30 years, was moved to Tavares by the Sunshine
Boat Club. The greed of the city of Mount Dora just got too much. Fees from the city kept getting higher and higher.
Some of the city officials were trying to make a lot of money for the city at the expense of the club and the Mount Dora
businesses. The Tavares city government looked at it like an opportunity advertise the city and help it's businesses.
They purchased some great stainless steel floating docks and really had a great system for putting in the boats and
getting them out. The setup seemed pretty good and I assume that the show will stay in Tavares which is bad for Mount
Dora. The show was 3 days and we waited until Sunday to attend. Unfortunately, the rain had started and many of the
boats had already left. There was only one Aqua Car there, but I got some great shots of it. I made a great wooden boat
myself and the photos can be viewed at the link below:

Boat ramp.
The was a contingent of Aqua Cars at the show. All but this one had
left due to the weather. Nancy and I remember them from Cape Coral
when we were dating in the early 60's. Amazing vehicles and I read on
the internet now worth $70,000.
The quality of workmanship is amazing.
Keeping up a boat like these is a lot of work.
