After leaving Frederick burg, we headed down South to try again to get to Tangier Island. We had missed out from seeing it from the
easter shore of VA, so we got there from Reedsville, VA on the western shore. We had some innkeeper friends from the Internet who
we have know for years, but never met. They we nice enough to allow us to park the motor home in their side yard for 3 days. The
middle day, we went to Tangier Island and stayed at the Chesapeake Bay Bed and Breakfast. The food on the island was wonderful,
but couldn't hold a candle to Sue's food at the Dragon Run Inn. She had made lunch for us, and then dinner which was a chicken/peach
dish that was to die for. We were to leave early the next day and as we were getting ready, we say a note taped to the windshield telling
us that she had crab quiche for us as well as some raspberry scones for us. We didn't take two invites for me. They were wonderful and
can see why they get so many repeat guests. Tangier Island itself was a little disappointing to me. I had been wanting to go their for
about 25 years. It is a little quaint fishing island. No cars. The people seem to have two languages; one when speaking to each other
and one for tourist. The former is an older English and we could pickup some words. The island seems to run o the tour boat schedule
as far as shop opening and restaurant openings as you would expect. Our B&B was very nice and the owner was very nice. We found it
strange that we were sot of inviable to people walking on the street. Kind of like the tourist didn't exist. I guess when I was growing up,
the shoe was on the other foot. The food was very good everywhere and we took some wonderful pictures and had to pare it down to
the ones below. On the way over, we met a nice couple (Mark, Elizabeth, and Rebekah). We ended up eating all of our meals with them.
Nancy and I had boondocked 6 nights and decided we deserved a night out.
