Lindsay visited these cliff dwellings as a young lad in 1963. They were not a park at that time and there were no stairs up to the top at
that time. It took over a day to get there by fording streams and taking basically a horse trail. This was one of the best sights on our trip. It
was very physically taxing and I was very pleased I was able to accomplish it. My renewed weight loss, exercise, and general healthy diet
is working. The trip up to the site was amazing. We wt from basically a desert to ponderosa pines by increasing our altitude 4,000 feet.
Gila Cliff Dwellers
Much later, this was Geronimo country.
